Tehran, Iran, May 30 – Iran’s Foreign Minister announced son Tuesday that Tehran was not willing to suspend its uranium enrichment activities, the official news agency reported.

The Iranian government would not abandon its nuclear “rights”, Manouchehr Mottaki told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement in Malaysia.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran opposes a suspension of its nuclear activities”, Mottaki said, adding that a diplomatic solution to the international standoff was still feasible.

The United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency have both called on Iran to suspend all its uranium enrichment activities, fearing that Tehran may be after the A-bomb.

Mottaki said that the Islamic Republic was prepared to resume negotiations with Britain, France, and Germany over its nuclear activities, but added that talks with the United States were not on the agenda.
