Tehran, Iran, Jun. 17 – A senior Iranian cleric said that “plots” by the United States against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program would fail.

“Definitely, the plots of the United States and the Zionists will not remain. They are bewildered that Iran has obtained such scientific knowledge”, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani told Friday prayers worshippers in Tehran. His remarks were carried by the official news agency.

In other parts of his sermon, Emami-Kashani referred to the recent visit to Baghdad by U.S. President George W. Bush and said, “They can neither remain in Iraq because of the huge costs nor can they leave this country. In this way, God has scorned the misguided beings”.
