Tehran, Iran, Jul. 16 – Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that sending Tehran’s nuclear file to the United Nations Security Council would derail its negotiations with key UN states.

“If Iran’s nuclear file goes to the Security Council, regardless of the result there, it will derail the negotiations”, spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi told reporters during his weekly press conference.

He described the package of incentives offered to Tehran by the five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany as an acceptable basis for further talks.

Tehran’s nuclear dossier was referred back to the Security Council last week after Iranian authorities deliberately missed a deadline to give a positive answer to the package.
