said on Tuesday. “Iran is determined to pursue all legal areas of nuclear technology including enrichment, exclusively for peaceful purposes,” Kharrazi told a United Nations-sponsored conference on nuclear disarmament.
Iran pastor in jail over politics, not religion: judiciary
AFP: Iran’s judiciary said Monday that a former navy officer and born-again Christian, Pastor Hamid Pourmand, was in jail for breaking the law and not because of his religion.
Judiciary spokesman Jamal Karimi-Rad said Pastor Pourmand had been “involved in a political group” while still serving in the armed forces, something which is forbidden by Iranian law.

Iran Focus: Tehran, May 03 A young man was injured when Irans State Security Forces (SSF) opened fire on residents in the Kurdish city of Mahabad (Western Iran) late Saturday evening. The incident took place in the city centre and Ash-Mam Ahmad district, where officials of the SSF were seen to be pursuing unknown people. Rahmat Khakpour, a 23-year-old first year Electronics university student, was injured after being shot at as he was returning home.
