SINGAPORE (AP) — Iran has beaten Papua New Guinea 1-0 in girls soccer at the Youth Olympics tournament.

The match Sunday allowed Iran to finally focus on playing in the six-team tournament after reaching a compromise with FIFA about Islamic head scarves. Soccer’s world governing body agreed to let the Iranians wear a head covering and long-sleeved shirt and leggings.

Fatemeh Ardestani scored the winner two minutes after half time, grabbing a rebound that bounced off the crossbar and slotting it into the net.
