A branch of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran has convicted Marzieh Amiri, student and journalist, with “collusion and propaganda against the regime” and “disturbing public order,” an informed source told Iran Focus.

Amiri was arrested during the International Labor Day demonstration in front of the Majlis (parliament) on May 1, 2019.

Amiri is a graduate student of Tehran University and a correspondent for the state-run Shargh newspaper.

At least 15 female labor activists were arrested during the Labor Day demonstration in front of the parliament.

Recently, 30 Iranian professors from the Social Sciences School of Tehran University wrote an open letter to the Minister of Science, demanding the release of Amiri.
