Tehran, Iran, Dec. 07 – Dozens of women blockaded a main road leading to Tehran during a protest on Monday.

The women from the village of Keresht blockaded the road from neighbouring Boumehen to the Iranian capital, forcing all traffic to stop in both directions.

The women, several of whom had brought their young children with them to the demonstration, protested government inaction in providing social welfare and services in their neighbourhood.
