Tehran, Iran, Mar. 10 – Iran said on Monday that it had no preference over who wins the upcoming presidential elections in the United States.

“Iran and its officials do not support any of the candidates for the U.S. presidential elections”, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said. His remarks were carried by the government-run news agency Fars.

“We do not have preference over which party wins”, he said when asked to specify the candidate the Islamic Republic favours to win the November elections.

The official news agency IRNA also quoted Hosseini as saying, “Both the American people and world nations have become tired of the war-mongering policies of the present U.S. administration”.
