TEHRAN (AFP) — An explosion tore through a factory just outside Tehran but caused no casualties despite earlier reports to the contrary, the Fars news agency reported on Monday.
A gas storage tanker exploded in the factory on Sunday, breaking window panes of neighbouring buildings, the deputy provincial governor of Tehran for security affairs, Ali Reza Fakhari, was quoted as saying.
"This explosion, in the village of Bidganeh in the town of Shahriar, has fortunately left no casualties," Fakhari said.
The initial report by Fars had said the incident could have claimed 15 lives. The cause of blast was still not known.
