DONYA-YE EQTESAD

– The all-share index on the Tehran Stock Exchange closed at 12,176 points on Wednesday, down from last week's close of 12,381 points.

– The U.S. dollar traded at 9,950 rials on Wednesday on the open market.

IRAN

– "The Bushehr nuclear power plant will be operational in the next months," lawmaker Kazem Jalali quoted Vice-president Ali Akbar Salehi as telling parliamentarians.

– "The West is using the human rights issue as a pressuring tool rather than practically respecting the rights," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said.

JAVAN

– The government accepted the outlines of a parliament's proposal on establishing the "Subsidy Targeting Organisation" to spend money saved from cutting food and energy subsidies.
