ImageTehran, Jan. 17 – The head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines claimed on Sunday that imposing sanctions on Iran over its nuclear activities will have no impact on the economy, state media reported.

“Ill-wishers seek to tighten the grip over Iran’s economic development, but vigilance of the Iranian nation and economic experts will be vital to nullify the policy”, Mohammad Nahavandian was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency.

Officials of the P5+1 group of nations on Saturday met to discuss the imposition of further sanctions against the Iranian government over its nuclear defiance.

Some analysts see targeted sanctions which are strictly enforced as the only method to slow Iran’s nuclear progress.
