ImageVOLGODONSK, Russia (AP) — Prime Minister Vladimir Putin says that Iran's first, Russian-built nuclear power plant is set to be launched this summer.

Putin spoke at Thursday's meeting with nuclear officials. He didn't mention an exact launch date or add any other details.

Putin's statement marked yet another postponement of the plant's launch, which tentatively had been set for some time this spring.

Moscow has cited technical reasons for the delays, but some Iranian officials have accused Russia of dragging its feet on the project under the Western pressure.

Russia has backed three previous sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions on Iran over its uranium enrichment program and signaled that it could support new sanctions on condition they wouldn't harm the population.
