UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – The head of a nuclear technology center in the Iranian city of Isfahan is to be blacklisted under a new round of U.N. sanctions to be voted on this week, a Western diplomat said on Tuesday.

If the draft sanctions resolution is approved on Wednesday as expected, Javad Rahiqi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran’s Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center, would face an international travel ban and all his assets abroad would be frozen.

Iran’s uranium conversion facility, a key component of its uranium enrichment program, is located at Isfahan.
