Iran again shows failure to comply with obligations: US

AFP: The United States said Wednesday that a new UN report on Iran’s nuclear program underscored Tehran’s continued failure to comply with its international obligations.

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The United States said Wednesday that a new UN report on Iran’s nuclear program underscored Tehran’s continued failure to comply with its international obligations.

In a restricted new report, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Tuesday the Islamic republic has continued to increase its stockpile of low-enriched uranium, in defiance of multiple rounds of UN sanctions.

“It underscores Iran’s continued failure to comply with its international obligations, and clearly illustrates its sustained lack of full cooperation with the IAEA,” State Department spokesman Mark Toner said.

The report “shows that Iran continues not to take any meaningful action or steps required of it by the UN Security Council or called on by the IAEA’s Board of Governors,” he told reporters.
