Sean Stone, the son of U.S. film director Oliver Stone, has converted to Islam while in Iran, the Tehran Times newspaper reported.
The ceremony of conversion to Shia Islam was held in the office of a cleric in Isfahan, the newspaper said, without giving details.
Stone, whose new Muslim name is Ali, traveled to Iran this month to attend a film festival, according to the report. He visited the country in September for the purposes of a documentary, the newspaper said.
