The United Arab Emirates started recovering an Iranian-registered cargo ship that sank Dec. 28 in stormy seas carrying a heavy load of fibreglass, Gulf News reported, citing an unidentified official.

Six crew members were rescued by police helicopters off the coast of the U.A.E’s emirate of Umm Al Quwain, the newspaper said. The vessel, named Al Jasourah, had left Sharjah and was headed to Iran when the accident occurred at 10:30am local time.

The six sailors were transferred to Al Quwain Hospital where two were treated for injuries, according to the report.
