BAGHDAD (AP) — A spokesman says a member of an Iranian opposition group exiled in Iraq has died of injuries sustained in an attack last month on their camp near Baghdad.

Shahin Gobadi of the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran said Thursday the death brought to eight the number of people killed when assailants fired rockets and mortars on the camp.

An Iraqi doctor says the man died Wednesday. He spoke on condition of anonymity as he isn’t authorized to talk to the media.

The exiles are members of Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, the militant wing of Gobadi’s council.

Iraq’s government considers MEK a terrorist group and wants it out of the country. The camp is meant to be a temporary way station while the U.N. finds host countries for the refugees.
