Iran and six world powers cleared technical hurdles on how to implement an agreement to curb the Persian Gulf nation’s nuclear program in return for easing sanctions, Iranian and European Union officials said.

The implementation accord needs to be approved by all the governments involved, said Iran Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to the Islamic Student News Agency.

Iran and the so-called P5+1 countries — China, France, Russia, the U.K. and the U.S., plus Germany — reached an accord on Nov. 24 in Geneva that still hasn’t taken effect.

“We found solutions for all the points of disagreement, but the implementation of the Geneva agreement depends on the final ratification of the capitals,” Araghchi said, according to ISNA. He said governments should respond to the proposals within two days, without giving details of what was agreed.

Araghchi held talks earlier this week with U.S. and EU officials. There was “very good progress on all the pertinent issues,” EU spokesman Michael Mann said in a statement on his Twitter account.

In Washington, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said it was “inaccurate” to say the technical talks had been completed, without giving details.
