Iran: Khamenei describes regime’s attempt to acquire nuclear weapons a myth

-

Ali Khamenei, mullahs’ regime leader described attempts by Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons a myth fabricated by the Americans and Europeans and some countries that follow them.

Speaking to a number of military commanders on Sunday, he denied any interference in the affairs of countries in the region and described such statements as: “untrue allegations”

Conversely, Khamenei said: “Today, the greatest global and regional threats are the United States and the Zionist regime that unbridled and without adherence to any principles or moral and religious code interfere anywhere they deem as necessary and conduct massacres.”

In the recent years, The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has constantly reported on a lack of cooperation by the regime in responding to the investigations of this agency regarding the possible military dimension (PMD) of Iran’s nuclear program. The last attempt by this agency to make headway in this regard was last week in a visit to Tehran that again proved unfruitful.

The International Committee In Search of Justice (ISJ), an NGO, in a detailed report in November 2014, announced that the civil nuclear program of Iran is a cover for regime’s nuclear military project. This report was produced by studying all IAEA reports in the past decade, disclosures by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), reports by other credible NGOs, as well as regime’s answers to the IAEA.

Likewise, the social media in the past months are replete with pictures of presence of Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the terrorist Qods Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (QF-IRGC), in various war fronts in Iraq. In recent months, senior U.S. administration and military officials have numerously expressed concern for the extensive meddling of the regime in the region, including in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

Concerning regime’s regional interferences, Reuters reported on April 9 on the reaction of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry:

The United States will not stand by while Iran provides support to Shia rebels who have seized much of Yemen, Secretary of State John Kerry said on Wednesday… ‘There have been – there are, obviously – flights coming from Iran. Every single week there are flights from Iran and we’ve traced it and know this,’ Kerry told PBS television in an interview.

“Iran needs to recognise that the United States is not going to stand by while the region is destabilised or while people engage in overt warfare across lines, international boundaries in other countries.”

Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin, Chairman of NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee, declared in an online conference on Thursday that “Today, the world and particularly our region are facing a great calamity called Islamic fundamentalism and fanaticism whose epicenter is in Tehran under the rule of the mullahs. The clerical regime has expanded its interference to Baghdad, Damascus, Beirut and recently Sanaa, capital of Yemen. Its meddling is of course not limited to these countries and its apparatus of terrorism and fundamentalism is actively working in other Arabic and Islamic countries such as Palestine, Egypt, Sudan, Turkey and Afghanistan.
