Iran president-elect submits new cabinet list to Majlis

Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Jul. 31 – Iran’s ultra-conservative President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has submitted his choice for a cabinet to the Majlis (Parliament) for approval, according to Iran’s state-owned press.

Tehran, Iran, Jul. 31 – Iran’s ultra-conservative President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has submitted his choice for a cabinet to the Majlis (Parliament) for approval, according to Iran’s state-owned press.

Iran’s Majlis is to discuss the new list on Tuesday is a closed-door session, Ghodratollah Amini, an ultra-conservative Majlis deputy from Khoramabad, told reporters on Sunday.

Amini said that Ahmadinejad had listed several candidates for each of the ministerial posts available.

In a separate development, the spokesman for Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Gholamhossein Elham, confirmed rumours that he would be serving in the Ahmadinejad’s cabinet.

“The rumours about my presence in the cabinet have truth in them. My presence in administrative posts in being considered”, Elham told reporters.
