Iran’s lawmakers slam IAEA, West

Iran Focus: London, Mar. 10 – Close to two hundred Iranian Majlis (Parliament) deputies on Thursday in a statement called on the hard-line government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to resume all nuclear activities right on the heels of the decision by the International Atomic Energy Agency to refer Tehran’s nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council, government-run news agencies reported. London, Mar. 10 – Close to two hundred Iranian Majlis (Parliament) deputies on Thursday in a statement called on the hard-line government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to resume all nuclear activities right on the heels of the decision by the International Atomic Energy Agency to refer Tehran’s nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council, government-run news agencies reported.

The 195 deputies who signed the statement demanded that the government “implement to the letter” a law ratified in Majlis that calls for Iran to end all voluntary suspension of nuclear activities and cooperation with the UN’s nuclear watchdog.

The statement was read out in Majlis on Thursday by Hossein Nejabat, a deputy from Tehran.

It accused the West “under the influence of Zionists and the leadership of the United States” of portraying Iran’s nuclear program in a negative light.

The deputies called on the government to better implement the policies of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
