60 hospitals under construction being abandoned
Iran’s Health Minister Masoud Pezeshkiyan said in the Iranian regime’s Majlis that at present there are 60 hospitals in Iran under construction which are being cancelled due to lack of funding and management. He told Majlis that some of these hospitals were 90 percent complete and some of their wards were fully functioning, but they have had to be abandoned due to mismanagement and insufficient qualified staff.

200 students in Khorassan suffering from AIDS
The head of medical branch of the ministry of education in the Iranian province of Khorassan announced that at least to hundred school children are suffering from the AIDS epidemic according to the latest figures. He said that the government has not been active in combating the disease and that many students don’t even know what it is.

Students detained in Mashad
Two students, Mohammad Raei and Ali Hosseini, were detained by security forces who rampaged into Mashad’s Melli University and were subsequently sentenced in court to prison time and fines for ‘disrupting the peace’ in their university campus. Authorities sent a letter to the university requesting that the two be banned from attending classes until the end of the year.

300 Satellite dishes rounded up in Isfahan
The head of Isfahan’s intelligence announced that security forces have searched homes in parts of the city of Isfahan and have been able to round up three hundred satellite dishes. Colonel Eidolahi announced to reporters that a number of distributors have also recently been arrested.

Man sentenced to execution
The Etema’ad daily reported that an Iranian court sentenced a young man by the name of Mehdi to death and another man by the name of Alireza to 15 years imprisonment, earlier this week.

Mashad’s 1,000 blind in desperate state
At present there are at least one thousand blind people in and around the suburbs of Mashad. Iranian officials announced that 600 of these individuals are in the city and the rest are in the surrounding villages. They are suffering due to lack of care by government institutions. It was reported that many of these individuals do not have homes or families to look after them.
