Tehran, Iran, Apr. 07 – Iran accused the United Nations Security Council of creating “insecurity” and said it will “stand strongly” against pressure to abandon its nuclear activities.

“Instead of creating security, the Security Council has become the instigator of insecurity and injustice”, radical Shiite cleric Ahmad Khatami told Tehran’s Friday prayers congregation.

“Nuclear energy and technology are our inalienable rights. But, if the Security Council says we cannot have nuclear technology through bullying, this is the law of the jungle”, Khatami said.

“The enemies are trying to create a crisis over the issue of nuclear energy”, he said.

“They have given us one month to suspend [nuclear”> research. Whether it’s one month or one year … you can give as much time as you want, but our nation … has already said that we will stand for this right until our last breath and the last drop of our blood”.

The Security Council adopted a “Presidential Statement” unanimously last week giving Iran 30 days to suspend all of its uranium enrichment activities and resume its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ navy conducted weeklong military exercises in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman which ended on Thursday.

“The message of these military exercises to Iran’s enemies was that if you want to show the slightest bit of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, you will get a very strong smack in the face”, Khatami said.
