Tehran, Iran, Jul. 04 – Iran rejected on Tuesday a recent report by a British parliamentary committee over its role in international terrorism.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi described the accusations in the report by the House of Commons Foreign Relations Committee as “biased” and “unworthy of commenting on”, according to a statement carried by the official news agency.

“The British continue to use traditional methods to judge others. While negatively portraying the whole world, they see it as dark except for regions close to them”, Asefi said.

He accused Britain of committing “widespread violations of human rights”, citing the “disastrous condition of minorities”, “atrocities by police”, “imprisonment of innocent Muslims”, and “discrimination against the people of Northern Ireland” as examples.

“Islamophobia in Britain has led to an atmosphere of insecurity and lack of trust among Muslims and increased pressure on Britain’s minorities, in particular the 2.5 million Muslims residing in that country, in such a way that thousands of Muslims are investigated on false pretexts”, he added.
