Iran may raise electricity prices by about 20 percent in March as part of a plan to cut energy subsidies, state-run Mehr reported, citing Mohammad Behzad, deputy energy minister.

Iran in December 2010 started a five-year plan to phase out subsidies on fuel, electricity and basic consumer goods, replacing them with cash payments.
