Residents in the No-Dareh region of the city of Mashad complained that government forces destroyed their livelihood, leaving nothing more than rubble on the sites where their homes used to be.

Residents in the No-Dareh region of the city of Mashad complained that government forces destroyed their livelihood, leaving nothing more than rubble on the sites where their homes used to be.
State Security Forces and officials from the mayors office brought cranes and bulldozers and they sealed off the entire area. They brought down everyones homes, said one eye-witness.
Official explanation for why the demolition was carried out has been that the houses were built on government land without a legal permit from authorities.
