US and Canada pledged to cooperate on pressing Iran to end its nuclear program and bring to justice those responsible for the death in custody of Canadian-Iranian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi. “We are very preoccupied by the nuclear proliferation and we’re not pleased at all with the way the Iranians are conducting this, Canadian foreign minister Pierre Pittigrew said in Washington on Friday after his first meeting since he took office with US Secretary of State Colin Powell, who noted that Iran’s nuclear ambitions and behavior will be discussed at a meeting next month of IAEA’s board of governors. “We need to cooperate and make sure that Iran respects international obligations,” Pittigrew said.
