Tehran, Iran, Jul. 10 – A young man was hanged in the north-eastern city of Shahroud while several others were sentenced to execution and lashes, the state-run media reported on Sunday.

The daily Khorassan reported on Sunday that Davoud Sh., 31 years old, was hanged on Saturday. He was accused of rape.

The daily Sharq reported on Saturday that another man, identified only as Bahzad, was sentenced to receive 74 lashes in public and be hanged in public on charges of kidnapping. His alleged accomplice, a woman identified only as Anita, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, 74 lashes, and a fine.

Separately, the daily reported that a court in Tehran sentenced a man, identified as Alireza, to three times execution on charges of murder.

A young man, identified only as Hassan, was sentenced to execution by a court in Tehran for fatally stabbing a friend during a skirmish that initially began as a joke, the state-run news agency ISNA reported on Saturday.
