ImageTEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iranian state television says Iraq's prime minister is in Tehran for talks with Iranian leaders.

Nouri al-Maliki's visit to Iran comes opposition in Tehran to a proposed U.S.-Iraq security agreement, which is shaping up to be a major political battle between America and Iran.

The U.S. and Iraq hope to finish the agreement by midsummer. It is likely to be among several issues discussed during al-Maliki's visit to Iran.

It is al-Maliki's second visit to Iran in a year.
