Iraq has offered to host the next round of talks on Iran’s nuclear program, planned for this month, Iranian state television reported, citing an unidentified Iraqi official.
Ambassadors of the U.S., Britain, France and Germany, as well as European Union representatives in Iraq, have been informed of the offer, according to the report, which was published on the television station’s website yesterday.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said March 31 that negotiations between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, together with Germany, will be held on April 13 and April 14 in Istanbul. Some reports in recent days have indicated that the venue has yet to be confirmed.
