Tehran, Iran, Jun. 28 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed the United States and Britain for the “problems” and “suffering” of the Iraqi people, the official news agency IRNA reported on Wednesday.

In a statement, he accused the “occupiers of Iraq” of being the primary cause of the Iraqi people’s suffering.

“Those who today occupy Iraq under the pretext of fighting Saddam’s dictatorship are the ones who yesterday armed Saddam with chemical weapons and were the main backers of his crimes”, Ahmadinejad added.
