Tehran, Iran, Sep. 12 – Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki arrived in Tehran on Tuesday for an official state visit, Iranian state television reported.

Al-Maliki’s visit, the first since he took office in May, will last for two days during which he will meet top Iranian officials, the report said.

He was received at the Presidential Offices by hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Al-Maliki’s entourage include several cabinet ministers and members of the Iraqi National Assembly.
