Earthquake shakes southwestern Iran
Shoush – An earthquake measuring a mild 3.7 on the Richter scale jolted the Iranian city of Shoush (southwestern Khuzistan province) early Thursday morning. No casualties were reported.

850 workers from Mashad go on Strike
More than 850 workers from the Wheel Production factory in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashad went on strike yesterday, for the second time in the past nine days, demanding better working conditions and answers to their previous requests. One of the strikers said that workers sat by their machinery whilst refusing to work.

Students protest against university in jeopardy
Tehran – Following reports that the privately-owned Oil Studies College is to be integrated into Iran’s Ministry of Education or face closure, students gathered in the university mosque yesterday, boycotting the end-of-term examinations. They demanded that authorities resolve their concerns, adding that at present their fate remains unclear.

Iran biggest ballistic missile producer in region after China and Russia
Qom – Iran’s Police Academy dean, speaking at a gathering in Qom University on Tuesday said Iran is the biggest producer of ballistic missiles in the region after China and Russia. “If the enemies try to disrupt the security of our country, we will deprive them of security”, General Shabani said.
