Tehran, Jan. 04 – Students from the University of Tabriz (northwestern Iran) have continued their protest on campus following the dean’s decision to suspend two student union spokespersons.

The demonstration by a large number of students started Monday morning. The students have said that they intended to continue their actions until their demands are met and the university staff apologise to the two spokespersons.

Protests began after the university dean Dr. Pour Mohammadi insulted and threatened the two on Sunday, upon being questioned by them as to why the university environment was not democratic.

He reportedly vowed to expel them and threatened to hand them over to the authorities for wreaking havoc against the state.
