Iran’s Ahmadinejad meets Syria’s al-Assad, Hezbollah chief

Iran Focus: London, Jul. 19 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and Lebanese Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Damascus on Thursday, Iranian and Syrian state media reported. Iran Focus

London, Jul. 19 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and Lebanese Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Damascus on Thursday, Iranian and Syrian state media reported.

At Damascus International Airport, Ahmadinejad was received by Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem.

Ahmadinejad and al-Assad issued a joint statement following their meeting.

“Syria and Iran expressed satisfaction over the high level of bilateral relations between them and stressed care for developing and enhancing the existing fraternal ties”, the official Syrian news agency SANA said.
