Tehran, Iran, Aug. 05 – Iranian authorities have launched a new crackdown on motorcyclists in Tehran, a semi-official daily reported.

“The plan to act against various motorcyclists in Tehran’s main routes has begun”, the hard-line daily Jomhouri Islami wrote in its Saturday edition.

The announcement was made by Colonel Qodratollah Ahmadi, the deputy chief of motor police in Greater Tehran.
