An Iranian-American journalist, who was banned from leaving Iran for the last seven months, is reported to have been given permission to leave.

Parnaz Azima works for the US-funded radio station, Radio Liberty.

She will be the second of four detained Iranian-Americans to be allowed to go. On Monday, the academic Haleh Esfandiari flew out of Iran.

Two other Iranian-American academics, Ali Shakeri Kian Tajbaksh are still being held in Iran.

Parnaz Azima had been charged with spreading propaganda against the Iranian state.

She had earlier been released on bail but was unable to leave the country because the authorities were keeping her passport.

Radio Free Europe has reported that she has now collected her passport and has told colleagues that she will be leaving Iran in the near future.
