Tehran, Iran, Mar. 29 – Five people were killed as a helicopter belonging to Iran’s State Security Forces (SSF) crashed in north-west Iran, a senior police official said on Saturday.

The chopper went down with three aircrew members and two senior police officials on board on the mountain region close to the town of Varazghan in East Azerbaijan Province, the province’s police chief Mohammad Ali Nossrati told the official news agency IRNA.

“The cause of the crash is under investigation”, Nossrati said, adding that the incident took place on Friday afternoon.
