WASHINGTON, March 26 (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has no plans for a "substantive" meeting with Iranian officials at a conference on Afghanistan in the Hague next week, the State Department said on Thursday.
"There are no plans for that at this time," said State Department spokesman Gordon Duguid when asked if Clinton planned to have a meeting with the Iranians, adding the United States hoped the Iranians would play a "positive" role in trying to stabilize Afghanistan.
