ImageTehran, Iran, May 04 – At least 28 people were killed on Monday when a bus veered off a road and crashed into a building in western Iran.

The accident occurred on a stretch of road in the province of Ilam, state radio said.

State media reported that nine other people were injured in the crash.

Iran's highways are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occurring in the last five years, the equivalent of three deaths an hour.
