ImageTEHRAN, Iran (AP) — An Iranian news agency reports that the judiciary has after just a day lifted its ban on a popular newspaper which ran a photo of a Baha'i temple.

The spokesman for Tehran's justice department, Zahed Bashirirad, said the ban on the daily Hamshahri had been lifted, the semiofficial ISNA agency said Tuesday.

The paper did not appear on the stands Tuesday after a press supervisory board ordered a ban of the paper the day before because it ran an advertisement containing a photo of a Baha'i temple in India encouraging visitors.

Since 1979, the government has banned the Baha'i religion, founded in the 1860s by Baha'u'llah, a Persian nobleman considered a prophet by the Baha'is.

Islam considers Muhammad as the last of the prophets.
