Tehran, May 29 – More than 300 workers in Pakdasht (suburbs of Tehran) gathered outside the offices of the Ministry of Labour, demanding they authorities take action for them to retrieve their overdue wages.

The workers from Sazmaye Company have not received their salaries for the past three months.

The head of Pakdasht Workers Union said that the workers had been demanding government action during this time but to no avail.

“We are starving, you turn a blind eye”, was repeatedly chanted by the agitated protestors.

They blamed the selling of the state-run company to a wealthy but corrupt individual as the reason for which the company had lost its value.
