Iran plans to attack U.S. Air Force bases in Germany to disrupt supplies should the country become the target of U.S. air strikes because of its nuclear program, Bild newspaper reported, citing a probe by the Federal Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has initiated preliminary proceedings against a German national on the grounds of suspected spying activity for sabotage purposes, the newspaper said. The German businessman is thought to have had “conspiratorial contacts” with the Iranian embassy in Berlin, Bild said.
