U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called on India to further pressure Iran over its nuclear program after officials said the South Asian nation will curtail its imports of Iranian oil by 20 percent.
“We commend India for the steps its refineries have taken to reduce imports from Iran and have also been consulting with India” to find other sources of crude, Clinton said at a press conference with Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna today. The U.S. “hoped to see continuing progress” that would force Iran to address concerns about its atomic research, she said.
