Iran to U.N.: U.S. to blame for terrorism

UPI: Iran’s Foreign Minister at the United Nations Friday described the United States as extremist and said its use of unbridled militarism causes terrorism.
Addressing the U.N. General Assembly, Kamal Kharrazi said, “The prevailing world realities illustrate that unbridled militarism and blind terrorism are mutually reinforcing,” giving the attack against Iraq as an example. United Press International

New York, NY – Iran’s Foreign Minister at the United Nations Friday described the United States as extremist and said its use of unbridled militarism causes terrorism.

Addressing the U.N. General Assembly, Kamal Kharrazi said, “The prevailing world realities illustrate that unbridled militarism and blind terrorism are mutually reinforcing,” giving the attack against Iraq as an example.

Kharrazi also called on the international community to work toward disarmament and non-proliferation in a comprehensive and non-discriminatory manner. He insisted that Iran have the right to possess nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, and said his country will “leave no stone unturned” in order to provide assurances of this.

Kharrazi pointed to Israel as the real nuclear concern, claiming that countries of the region and beyond are unanimous in considering the Israeli arsenal as the single greatest threat to global peace and security.
