Tehran, Iran, Dec. 02 – Iran has eight million illiterate people, according to a semi-official daily.

The ultra-conservative daily Ressalat reported on Thursday that 13.5 percent of people in Iran aged 10 and upwards were illiterate.

Iran has an estimated population of 70 million.
