Iran Focus: Tehran, Nov. 6 – A 26-year-old female student committed suicide by jumping off a bridge over the Tajrish river, in the suburbs of the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday.
The young woman’s body was found in the river by local residents. She was identified only by her first name, Esmat, and is reported to have been a diplomatic studies student for a number of years. Iran Focus

Tehran, Nov. 6 – A 26-year-old female student committed suicide by jumping off a bridge over the Tajrish river, in the suburbs of the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday.

The young woman’s body was found in the river by local residents. She was identified only by her first name, Esmat, and is reported to have been a diplomatic studies student for a number of years.

Authorities found a note handwritten by Esmat in which she stated that she is fed up with all the pressures that has been put on her by society.

Iran has the highest suicide rate in the world according to international monitoring organisations.
