US sanctions on Russia ‘unlawful’: foreign ministry

AFP: Russia slammed as “unlawful” Friday sanctions imposed by the United States on seven Russian firms including the aircraft maker Sukhoi over their dealings with Iran.
MOSCOW, Aug 4, 2006 (AFP) – Russia slammed as “unlawful” Friday sanctions imposed by the United States on seven Russian firms including the aircraft maker Sukhoi over their dealings with Iran.

“We consider such actions by the United States to be unnacceptable. In essence we are talking about the latest unlawful attempt to force foreign companies to work by domestic American rules,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
