Iran’s Education Ministry has announced that the country has more that 14.1 million school pupils, a one percent decrease from the number of schoolchildren in 2005.

Earlier this week, Tehran police chief Brigadier General Morteza Tala’i announced the formation of a new “Youth Police” which will be present in schools across the Iranian capital.

The Education Ministry has also announced a ban on male teachers from teaching in all-girls schools.

The new regulations will take effect from the beginning of the new academic year, Iran’s deputy Education Minister said.
