India welcomes Russian interest in gas pipe to Iran

Reuters: Oil minister Murli Deora said on Friday that he welcomed Russia’s interest in participating in the proposed Iran-Pakistan-India natural gas pipeline. MUMBAI (Reuters) – Oil minister Murli Deora said on Friday that he welcomed Russia’s interest in participating in the proposed Iran-Pakistan-India natural gas pipeline.

“We believe that Russia’s participation is important for the safety and security of the pipeline,” Deora told reporters.

Deora said his Pakistani counterpart also welcomed the proposal and hoped that Iran would also support it.
